Acceptable Use Policy
This Acceptable Use Policy (the “AUP”) applies to everyone who uses the Belume platform — including studio owners, staff, and any other authorized users. The AUP is part of our Terms of Service. Violating the AUP can result in suspension or termination of your account.
1. Prohibited content
You may not use the Service to store, send, or share content that is:
- Illegal under U.S. or applicable local law
- Threatening, harassing, defamatory, or invasive of privacy
- Sexually explicit (other than legitimate ultrasound media in the studio’s normal scope of business)
- Promoting violence or hate based on race, religion, gender, sexual orientation, disability, or other protected characteristics
- Infringing on intellectual property rights you don’t own or have permission to use
- Malicious, including malware, ransomware, or phishing payloads
2. SMS and communication rules
If you send SMS or email through Belume, you must:
- Obtain prior express written consent from each recipient before sending marketing messages, in compliance with the Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA) and similar state laws
- Identify yourself clearly in every message
- Honor opt-out requests immediately (e.g., STOP, UNSUBSCRIBE)
- Send only messages relevant to the customer’s relationship with your studio (transactional, reminders, confirmations, follow-ups)
- Not send messages between 9 PM and 8 AM in the recipient’s local time zone unless the recipient has opted in to other hours
You may not:
- Buy or rent contact lists and import them into Belume
- Send unsolicited bulk messages (spam)
- Spoof sender identities
- Send messages on behalf of any business other than your own studio
3. Studio responsibility for customer data
If you collect data from customers using Belume, you are responsible for:
- Posting a customer-facing privacy policy on your studio’s website
- Obtaining required consents from customers, including SMS and media-sharing consents
- Complying with applicable state laws on keepsake or elective ultrasound
- Responding to your customers’ data requests (access, correction, deletion)
You acknowledge that keepsake / elective ultrasound is a non-diagnostic, non-medical service. You may not represent the Service or its outputs as medical diagnosis, prenatal screening, or fetal health assessment.
4. Account and platform integrity
You may not:
- Share login credentials between people — each user must have their own seat
- Attempt to bypass plan limits, billing, or rate limits
- Use the Service to mine cryptocurrency, run unrelated workloads, or store unrelated data
- Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract source code
- Scrape, copy, or aggregate Belume data for use outside the Service
- Build a product that competes with Belume using Belume’s data or interfaces
- Resell, sublicense, or grant access to non-authorized third parties
5. Security and infrastructure
You may not:
- Interfere with or disrupt the Service or related infrastructure
- Attempt unauthorized access to other accounts, customer data, or Belume systems
- Probe, scan, or test the vulnerability of the Service except through our designated security disclosure process
- Send malware, viruses, or harmful code
- Use the Service to attack or harass others
6. Rate limits and fair use
We may apply reasonable rate limits to API requests, SMS volume, render jobs, and similar workloads to protect the Service and other users. We reserve the right to throttle, queue, or refuse activity that exceeds reasonable use for your plan.
7. Reporting abuse
If you believe someone is violating this AUP — including illegal content, harassment, spam, or security issues — report it to support@belume.io with the subject “AUP report” and as much detail as you can share.
8. Enforcement
If we believe you’ve violated this AUP, we may:
- Contact you for clarification or to request that you fix the issue
- Remove or disable specific content
- Suspend your account
- Terminate your account
Serious or repeated violations may result in immediate termination without notice. We will use reasonable judgment based on the severity of the violation, harm caused, and your response.
